(Please Don't) Let it Snow!

In Spokane for the holidays. Brett made it into town just in time to get snowed in...

Digging out the driveway: Fun!

Robert borrowed the neighbor's snow blower: Much easier!

There's a lot of snow on the ground and more on the way.

Tis the season for procrastination...

We haven't posted anything for a while, but that doesn't mean we weren't busy doing all sorts of fun things this fall. Here's a quick recap of the last couple months.

We loved having the Charbonneaus in town. Unfortunately, we forgot our camera for most our fun. Can't wait to see you guys again!

We finally have furnature! Yay!

An unbelievable Thankgiving spread. Goodbye turkey, hello seafood!

Keith loves Thanksgiving!

Trip up to North Beach brought us a little of the Northwest where we had some drinks at the Rogue Ale House.

More sightseeing around North Beach.

Football with friends. Go Seahawks!

Christmas time in Union Square.

Prepping the cats for our Christmas picture.

Just a reminder that Marvel isn't the only evil one.

Home Improvement

We are slowly but surely filling in all that apartment space. We finally got a desk which means all the papers and computer crap strewn across the floor and dinner table have a new home. Also, here's a pic of my new and improved vanity!

Ren Faire!

Our good friend Sean drove down with us to the Renaissance Faire near Gilroy. Costumes, shows, food, rides, horses, knights and jousting! Sean and Timber got in costume and Brett partook in some tasty mead. Hazzah to thee!

The Van in San Fran

To the shock of everyone who has been anywhere near the Nelson household these last 2 years, the Van actually made it through the long journey down to San Francisco! And back again! And the only Napa that was visited during the trip was filled with tasty wine instead of car parts. Amazing. We loved having you guys down here! Come back soon!

Think those smiles are because of the food at Joe's? No, they made a fun stop earlier in the day at the Toronado.

They also hit Magnolia on their bar hop up Haight. Randy never knew beer could taste so good! :)

That night we saw Michael Franti and Spearhead at the Mezzanine. Great show!

Seal watching at Fisherman's Wharf. I see that, O!

Took a walk through the Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate park.

Romance in the Japanese Tea Gardens.

Miss you guys! Can't wait to see you again!

Things to See

Things have been getting pretty busy around here. Brett's finally starting school and Timber's experiencing the grueling hours a Veterinarian with a San Francisco commute enjoys. Here's a few pics from our recent adventures:

Driving up to the UCSF Cancer Center who do we get stuck behind? Oh, well that's not so bad. Yes, this picture's for you Jordy.

Timber saw this place while walking around. We laughed.

The Castro

Our dear comrade, Sean, traveled up from sunny Santa Cruz to visit this weekend. Have we mentioned how much we love visitors? Good ol' times full of drinking and board games. We also finally made it out to visit the Castro district after a month and a half of San Francisco living. No explanation needed.

We've been touring the Chocolate shops of San Francisco. This is Chocolate on Castro. Most of their treats are brought in from other local chocolateirs, but they do make a mean hot chocolate.

Happy Anniversary to us!

We hit the town to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary. Breakfast at Howard's cafe in our neighborhood, Japanese Tea Gardens, Xocolate in Berkeley, dinner at Pizzaiolo in Oakland, dessert from Whole Foods bakery. Can't you taste the romance?

We love visitors!

Sorry, sorry. We know we promised a vicarious romp through San Francisco for all our family back at home. We've been busy and lazy, which leads to a lack of blogging. Timber is busy trying to figure out how to be a "real vet" and Brett is gearing up for grad school. These pictures below are when Robert and Nancy came to visit. It was wonderful having family back in town!

Tasty Italian food at Tomaso's in North Beach!

Then off to wine tasting in Napa!

This was the Viansa Winery. Grapes as far as the eye can see.

A bit of the bubbly stuff after lunch. Domaine Chandon specializes in Champagne and sparkling wines.

Somebody at Domaine Chandon apparently has a thing for mushrooms!

Can't be beat wine at Robert Mondavi Winery. Gotta love those Cabs!

Hello California!

Well, we made it. After 18 hours in a car stuffed with misc. luggage and two terrified cats, we found ourselves in San Francisco. We're excited to be starting a new chapter of our lives, but with bittersweet thoughts of the family and places left behind. We have been camping out in our new apartment in sleeping bags as we wait for the 2 tons of junk the movers are bringing down. We are enjoying our new neighborhood full of tasty restaurants and the Golden Gate park 3 blocks away. We have much more settling in to do and so much more to see. Goodbye lentils.
